Glaze Consistency The consistency of your glaze depends on what type of glazing technique you plan to use.  If you are going to pour your glaze it should be like milk coming off of your brush.  If you are going to brush the glaze on to your clay then you want the glaze to be more like a cream.
Glaze Preparation Before using any glaze, you will need to shake, stir or mix the sediment from the bottom of the container.  The chemicals which make the color often settle to the bottom of the glaze (even after a few minutes).  To make your color more consistent, remember to mix your glaze.  You might even want to pour your glaze into a catch bowl so that the chemicals from the bottom can be mixed in more consistently.
